MICHELLE TURNER – AUSTRALIAN ARTIST

I am pleased to share my journey in the artistic field. My passion for drawing began in high school, where I focused on graphic and vibrant fantasy art.

My art is characterised by intricate detail and vivid colours. I also take great interest in depicting animals, landscapes, and plants. Capturing expression in animals and rendering fine detail in all subjects is central to my practice.

Following a 26-year hiatus during which I worked as a Registered Nurse both as a civilian and with the Air Force, I returned to art after medically retiring from the Air Force. This transition allowed me to embrace the therapeutic benefits of creative pursuits, fostering relaxation, improved mood, and enhanced concentration within what I describe as the “art zone.”

Beyond my artistic endeavours, I work part-time as a Thermomix consultant due to my enthusiasm for cooking. I am also passionate about walking, dancing, gardening, reading, paddling, yoga, and gym workouts—all of which contribute to my motivation and well-being.

Academically, I hold a Graduate Diploma in Emergency Nursing, Graduate Certificates in Occupational Health and Safety and Renal Nursing, and a Bachelor of Nursing. My formal art studies span five and a half years in Washington DC and Australia, and I have experience teaching ink house drawing classes.
